Terms of Use

Shortlist is provided free of charge, by invitation, as an unfinished beta. These terms apply to your use of it.

The service

Shortlist tracks a job search, tailors a resume to a posting, researches contacts at employers, and finds new postings. It is operated by an individual, not a company, and is offered to a limited number of testers in the United States.

No warranty

• The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind.
• It may be unavailable without notice.
• It may lose your data. Retain your own copies; Download my data is available in Settings.
• The beta may be discontinued at any time. Notice and an opportunity to export will be given beforehand.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from use of the service, including lost opportunities, lost data, or the consequences of contacting any person identified by the tool.

AI-generated material

• Resumes and cover letters. Review every line before sending. You are responsible for the accuracy of any document you submit.
• Fit ratings, strengths, and gaps. Machine-generated assessments, not statements of fact.
• Discovered postings. May be closed, stale, or inaccurately described.
• Contact names, titles, and email addresses. Frequently inaccurate. Addresses labelled as inferred are unverified and may reach an unintended recipient. Verify before sending.

You are responsible for all material you send to any employer or individual.

Your obligations

• You are 18 or over and located in the United States.
• You upload only your own resume and your own information.
• You will not use contact research to send bulk, automated, or unsolicited commercial email. Messages are sent from your own mail client and you are the sender for all legal purposes, including CAN-SPAM.
• You will not access another user's account or data, disrupt the service, or circumvent the search limit.
• You will keep your password confidential and will not share your account.

Accounts found in breach of these obligations may be removed without notice.

One limit

Searching for new roles is limited to five searches per hour, per account.

Ownership

You retain ownership of all material you upload and all material generated for you. The operator claims no rights in your resume, job records, or generated documents. The only permission granted is that required to operate the service for you, including transmission to Anthropic as set out in the privacy policy.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings; deletion is immediate and permanent. The operator may terminate your access at any time, and will offer an export beforehand except in cases of breach of these terms.
